Sermon: Smile, Jesus Loves You!

A Wake-Up Call to Bold Faith

This message is personal. A few days after celebrating my husband’s 50th birthday, I lost my dad unexpectedly. In the middle of grief and loss, God stirred something fresh in my heart—an urgency about eternity I can’t shake. Death is real, and it’s an enemy. But for those of us who know Jesus, we don’t grieve without hope. We win because eternity with Him is promised. But that’s the question, isn’t it? Are you ready for eternity?

It’s not enough to just believe in God. The Bible says even demons believe. What matters is whether you’ve fully surrendered your life to Jesus. Have you made Him Lord? Are you living like eternity matters? Are the people around you ready?

In Matthew 24, Jesus told us to watch for the signs—and I’m watching. Deception, division, moral decay… it’s all happening. And yet so many of us are spiritually asleep. Distracted. Overfed. Unconcerned.

I’ll be honest—on a recent trip to Mexico, I stayed at a beautiful resort. But just outside the gates, people were living in deep poverty. It hit me hard. I couldn’t help but ask: Am I so focused on my comfort that I’ve forgotten my mission?

The mission hasn’t changed. Jesus said to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. Not just go to church. Not just play it safe. But to make disciples.

So here’s what I believe with all my heart:

  • It’s time to break out of complacency.
  • It’s time to live on fire for God.
  • It’s time to tell people about Jesus—boldly and urgently.

If you’re not sure where you stand with Him, don’t wait another day. And if your faith has grown cold, ask the Holy Spirit to wake you up. Let’s be a church that’s not just gathering—but going. Not just believing—but bringing others into the Kingdom.
