What a humbling privilege it is to step into this new season as lead pastors. The last time I preached was right before the world shut down in 2020, and now here we are—launching into a new Christmas series called Light Has Come. Today’s message is close to my heart, and it’s this: Joy to the world, the Lord has come! But the question is—are we truly receiving our King?
Jesus came as the Light of the World, and yet many still choose to walk in darkness. John 12:46 reminds us, “I have come into the world as light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.” Christmas is more than a celebration of His birth—it’s a declaration that our Savior came once to rescue us, and He is coming again. The question I keep asking myself is: Am I ready?
In a season full of lights, shopping, and traditions, I feel the Holy Spirit gently nudging me to stay alert—to see the signs of the times and live with urgency. While the world celebrates the holidays, we as believers are called to shine His light and share His love like never before.
In Matthew 25, Jesus shares three parables that have stirred my heart deeply. They remind us to stay ready, be faithful, and love well:
- The ten virgins remind me to keep my lamp full—maintaining a close, daily relationship with God.
- The talents challenge me to use what He’s entrusted to me—not hide it, but multiply it for His glory.
- The sheep and goats confront me with this truth: how I treat others is how I treat Jesus.
This Christmas, I’m choosing to live with my heart full of oil, my hands faithful with what He’s given, and my eyes open to those in need. He has come—and He’s coming again.
