Sermon: Attitude Of Your Mind

I’m honored to kick off this two-part sermon series on Attitude and Gratitude. It’s not just about being thankful as Thanksgiving approaches—it’s about the attitude we carry every single day.

Attitude Matters

Ephesians 4:22-24 tells us to put off the old self and be made new in the attitude of our minds. Our attitude affects how we live, love, and serve God. Some wake up singing “Rise and Shine,” while others feel like Eeyore, dragging through life. But the truth is, we have a choice—we can align our attitude with God’s truth or be consumed by negativity.

Adjust Your Mindset

Your problem isn’t always your problem—your attitude about your problem is the problem. We can’t control life’s challenges, but we can control our response. Complaining, negativity, and bitterness spread like wildfire. Instead, we must have a perspective shift—fixing our eyes on Jesus rather than our circumstances.

Live Like You’re Called

God calls us to live worthy of our calling (Ephesians 4:1). That means letting go of bitterness, anger, and selfishness and instead choosing unity, humility, and joy. When we truly grasp that Jesus is enough, our attitude shifts from self-pity to purpose.

The Joshua & Caleb Perspective

Twelve spies scouted the Promised Land—ten saw obstacles, two saw God’s faithfulness. Joshua and Caleb believed in God’s promises despite the challenges. What’s your perspective? Are you looking at life with fear, doubt, and frustration? Or are you declaring, “God is with me, and His promises are good!”
